Baan Nateen

A great way to experience the local southern culture. Take part in the life of the people of Baan Nateen. Nateen village offers up to 3 day stays with a wide range of activities refer to the people's daily life. Baan Nateen is a small traditional fishing community near Krabi. There are two different choices of basic but charming accommodation available. A selected family will be happy to welcome you in their home or, in case you prefer a little more privacy in a private cottage.

1st Excursion: The Koran School

Visit the Ponoa Krudia, the local Koran school. Witness the old way of religious teachings, used by countless generations.

2nd Excursion: Go fishing with the locals

Join the locals on their traditional long tail boats for fishing. Enjoy cooking your catch of the day for lunch on a small uninhabited island near ‘miracle beach’. There will be enough time after lunch swim and snorkel.

3rd Excursion: Thai cooking

Join the local people at night and learn how to cook authentic Thai food and desserts.

4th Excursion: Rubber tapping

Rubber tapping is another important source of income the people of Bann Nateen. Join them once again in the early morning and help to work in the rubber plantations.

A variety of Handicrafts workshops

The manufacture of Handicrafts is essential to preserve age old skills and yet another source of income. Several workshops will introduce you to the different techniques of batik painting, and how to process rice paper and coconut shells. Another workshop reveals the techniques of making paper from pinapple leafs.
