Koh Mook Island is a medium sized island with 2,000 inhabitants which make their living mostly from fishing, from rubber tree plantations and simple tourist facilities. There are two villages on the island, one on the east side with the pier and shops, a small Buddhist Temple and a Mosque. The other one is a small fishing village, built in the water of Phang-ka Bay.
